Will it work on my bike?

As long as the wheels are between 12-21" of diameter, tires up to 250mm wide, and a wheel center hub with diameter greater than 15mm (needs an optional 15mm Spindle Kit) the Street changer will work. We also recommend measuring the hub to make...

What's the smallest axle diameter?

The standard spindle together with a stepped busher works with 20-32mm wheel hubs. For motorcycles with smaller wheel hub than 20mm, we have a 15mm Spindle Kit that consists of a 15mm spindle, 18mm wheel hub adapter and an adapter for the duck...

I don't know my axle size

There are several ways to find out the axle size. One is to take the wheel off the bike and measure the hub diameters. Another way is to remove the axle nut and measure the axle. You may also look up the axle or wheel bearing dimensions online.

Need to remove the brake disc/rotor?

No, you do not need to remove the rotors. The rim supports below the rim are adjustable, so you can slide them as wide as needed to accommodate any size brake disc.

Need to remove the pulley?

Not the rotor, as the wheel supports can be adjusted. However, if the pulley is very far out from the wheel center, it might not let the wheel rest fully on wheel supports. But you can check. If it remains in the air, not on wheel supports, remove...

Does it balance? How do I balance tires?

No, but a simple tabletop manual balancer is what track day guys use. It takes a few minutes max per wheel to balance. Rabaconda will also bring out a wheel balancer in a few months' time.

Why the balancer is not in the same kit?

We had this idea during the design phase. It didn't turn out to be as easy as it seems, but the main reason was that it's more convenient to balance on a workbench or wall, so that you can stand up, but the tire changer doesn't fit on the table,...

Does it work on single-side swing armed bikes?

Yes, we have special adapters available as optional accessories. Our goal is to offer accessories for the tire changer so you can use it for all makes and models of bikes. It is easy with double-sided swing arms - the tire changer comes with a...

Does it work with spoked wheels?

What about the tire iron?

You're covered! After testing out a number of different shapes and lengths of tire irons, we've found the best one to accompany this tire changer. The tire iron is included in the bag, so you can just roll up the sleeves. To provide maximum...

Can I change dirt bike tires with it?

It can work on dirt bikes as well. If you have rim locks on your dirt bike, you should incorporate an extra layer of precaution and awareness when navigating the rim lock. However, if you use bib mousse inserts, the only option is the Rabaconda...

Why doesn't it work with bib mousse foam insert?

You cannot get the tire into the drop center from the other side, as the mousse inflates the tire. There is simply no room to operate the duck head. Same as you cannot use an industrial tire machine to change tires with bib mousses.

Can it be used on carbon fiber wheels?

The honest answer is we haven't tested enough with carbon rims to claim it works safely. The main risk is that the wheel support blocks under the rim have a round surface, and the supporting area for the rim is quite narrow. When you apply...

What if I use very stiff sidewall tires?

Changing stiff sidewall tires (like Bridgestone Battlax and similar) will require more time, patience, extra care, drop center clamps, and skills. Do not use excessive force and take your time to develop proper technique.

Experiencing some difficulty with the duck head where the pry bar goes against to remove the tire. The angle is too steep and the prybar wants to fall out all the time.

Reduce the tire bead tension by getting the tire into the drop center in the opposite section. The more the better. It does not mean pushing it extremely deep at just a single point this will not help much. Instead, make sure that the bead is...

Will it work on scooter tires?

It will work on tires starting from 12'' in diameter, but the smallest spindle diameter we offer is 15mm. Oftentimes the scooter tires are 10-11'', and their center axles are below 15mm and hence it would not work.

Why do you not have metal duck heads?

The most important criteria about our duck heads is that they must not cause any damage to the rim and tire. We have made them in plastic to minimize the risks. The downside of this is that they will also wear out faster. However, if the rim is in...

Why do you break the bead from both sides to change a tube?

Typically, you break the bead on one side, remove the damaged tube from the tire, and replace it. When you work this way, the bead does not need to be broken from the opposite side. When changing the air tube with our machine, you actually remove...

Does it change Supermoto tires?

Yes, absolutely! There is nothing different with supermoto wheels in respect to changing their tires. Please note that if you have wire spoke wheels, then instead of using a metal pin to stop the wheel from rotating, you use the included strap,...

What about Honda Grom tires (12mm center axle)?

We have tested a 12mm spindle but managed to bend it. It is challenging because the center spindle takes most of the forces when operating the ratchet system, and the spindle strength is critical there. Weve heard some customers have had custom-...

Can I use the Dirt changer 20mm spindle on the Street changer?

Unfortunately, no. The thread size is different.

Does it work on powder-coated rims?

There is contact between the rim and duck head. As long as the rim is clean and the duck head has no damage there shouldnt be any problems. Our painted demo wheels started showing some marks of wear after approximately 150 changes.

Will it work on BMW GS?

Yes, it does! Few tips: a) You need the BMW Shaft Drive Type Adapter from our web shop, so it centers the wheel. b) GS has spokes running far out to the sides of the rim, and you need the Duck Head Kit for Cross-Spoked Wheels. So kindly make sure...

What's the floorspace footprint of the tire changer?

3 ft x 3ft for just the tire changer. Footprint grows when the tire is on the machine.

Will it work on UTV/ATV tires?

No, not really. But we're working on one for ATV/UTV that will come out in 2024.

IS IT GOING TO DAMAGE/SCRATCH THE RIM

All parts that go into contact with the rim are covered in plastic. But even then we cannot guarantee anything, as it depends too much on an operator, not the tool itself.

DOES IT WORK ON SOLID RIMS?

No. If you have solid rims, you cannot use the Rabaconda tire changer, as there is no way to stop the wheel from rotating

Do you do sales?

We offer some bundles that already include discounts. You can choose between the Starter Kit, the Ultimate Kit, or the Dirt and Dual Sport Full Kit.

Will it work on over 21'' wheels?

We haven't extended the duck head arm above 21" because this would create a need for an additional arm. The 12-21" compatibility range means that at the 21" position, the arm is extended to its limit. Also, the bigger the diameter, the higher the...
