Can it be used on carbon fiber wheels?Updated 2 years ago

The honest answer is we haven't tested enough with carbon rims to claim it works safely. The main risk is that the wheel support blocks under the rim have a round surface, and the supporting area for the rim is quite narrow. When you apply pressure with the bead breaker, it might damage the outer flange of the rim. The second risk is that by the tire changer's design, the duck head is sliding against the rim. We don't know how it behaves when it slides on a carbon rim. We've had customers who say it works, but again, we need more testing. We have made a small batch of support blocks with a wider flat surface (width:145 mm; 5.7). In case you are interested, we can include these with your purchase free of charge in return for your feedback later. Please note that we do not take responsibility for any rim or tire damage. We highly recommend trying the tire changer on regular alloy rims before using it on your carbon rims so you would get some experience with it first.
